Synopsis: |
Henna Mäki is a 14 years old girl from the Northernmost Finnish Lappland. In the village of Sevettijärvi is living half of the small group of Eastern Sami people with their own traditions and language.
Leudd is the ancient song art among the Eastern Sami Skolts. It is different from a joik telling stories with words. Henna is one of the few young people training leudd with her grandfather Elias and Aunt Tyyne. Together they travel over the border to Norway and perform for tourists. At the same time Henna is like all other girls having a taste for modern pop music and big stars, and likes to travel herself too.
It looks that there will be a continuity for the old traditions also in the future. Henna is able to connect the traditions with all other roles needed in life.
