Synopsis:

In the countryside, two girls from the apostolic lutheran families are coming close to the marrying age. Both have faithful fiancés in mind.

One of the girls escapes to work in the city for the summer. The parish sends girl’s friend to look after her.

The escaped girl, Mary, tries on makeup and tastes cider. She goes out dancing and kisses a stranger. The girl who came to look after her, Rachel, doesn´t want to try anything, but gets tempted. Mary yearns for new experiences.

Mary insists Rachel to take her home.

Mary gets married and says that she is now content. Rachel has to make a more difficult decision.
