Freetime Machos by Mika Ronkainen has its world premiere in IDFA´s Competition for Feature-length Documentary. It is a comedy about the northernmost and third worst rugby club in the world. The film is produced by Mika Ronkainen and Kimmo Paananen / Klaffi Productions. Ronkainen´s earlier documentary film Screaming Men (Huutajat, 2003) is one of the most internationally well-known and awarded Finnish films in the 2000s. Little Snow Animal is produced by Mahsa Malka / The School of Motion Picture, TV and Production Design of University of Art and Design Helsinki.
The under 10-minute-long short film / media art work Up and About Again (Jalkeilla taas) by Maarit Suomi-Väänänen is part of IDFA´s Paradocs section, where “experimental documentaries and documentary experiments are nourished”.
