Finnish film weeks in St. Petersburg and Murmansk celebrate anniversaries
2.11.2009

The oldest annual Finnish film week abroad in St. Petersburg celebrates this November its 20th anniversary. Another Finnish film week in Russia, arranged in Murmansk, is now 10 years old.
The St. Petersburg film week opens with the screening of The House of Branching Love (Haarautuvan rakkauden talo) by Mika Kaurismäki, whose retrospective was already twenty years ago the core of the very first Finnish film week in St. Petersburg.
In Murmansk, the highlights of the programme include e.g. recent festival hits like The Home of Dark Butterflies (Tummien perhosten koti) by Dome Karukoski and Sauna by AJ Annila.
