Four local films in Top Ten

The latest local premiere, Bad Family (Paha perhe) by Aleksi Salmenperä, sold during its first weekend on screens 3 494 tickets (total 3 749, number eight on chart). It is a drama about the complicated relationships of a father and his son and daughter, reunited after sixteen years. The film is produced by Aki Kaurismäki / Sputnik Oy and distributed in Finland by Sandrew Metronome Distribution Finland Oy Ab on 15 screens. International sales are handled by The Match Factory GmbH.
Backwood Philosopher (Havukka-ahon ajattelija) by Kari Väänänen continues as number two the Finnish chart; it sold 17 485 tickets this weekend. The film premiered on screens throughout the country on January 15, after having already had the very first screenings in the Eastern Finland´s area called Kainuu, where the story is located. Total admissions up to date are 110 777, six weekends after the first screening. Backwood Philosopher is produced by Marko Röhr & Mikko Tenhunen / MatilaRöhrNordisk Oy and distributed in Finland by Nordisk Film Oy, now on 55 screens.
If You Love (Jos rakastat) by Neil Hardwick is now number six on the chart after five weekends on screens. It sold this weekend 4 808 tickets (total admissions now 64 301). If You Love is produced by Jarkko Hentula / Juonifilmi Oy and distributed in Finland by FS Film Oy, now on 39 screens.
Under the North Star (Täällä Pohjantähden alla) by Timo Koivusalo, sold 2 581 tickets during its ninth weekend on screens (total admissions 153 997, number ten on the chart). The film is produced by Koivusalo´s own company Artista Filmi and distributed in Finland by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Finland, now on 39 screens.
