Helene
Details
In 1913, Helene Schjerfbeck was a forgotten artist, living together with her elderly mother in the Finnish countryside. She had kept painting for passion only, not for glory. An art dealer decides to organise a huge solo exhibition for Helene and introduces her to Einar Reuter, a passionate admirer of Helene’s work. She falls deeply in love with him, despite their age difference. Through the tragic relationship, Helene grows more independent and becomes a stronger artist than ever before.
