Etna

Details

Etna is a documentary film about breaking the cycle of transgenerational distress. The subject matter and starting point of the film is the director's correspondence with her 94-year-old Sicilian great-aunt and namesake, Sinna Perho, over the past 12 years. In the film, the volcano Etna expands from a symbol of repressed grief and trauma to an active, functioning organism with its own agency.
