Details
Halima is a 10-year-old Somali girl living in Finland in 1998. She loves dancing, pop music, and Leonardo DiCaprio. When her family moves to yet another new town, Halima retreats into her own world, believing there is no point in forming friendships when they are always left behind with the next move. This time, she is proven wrong. For the first time in her life, Halima makes friends, and through a series of heartwarming and humorous mishaps, she begins to discover the true meaning of friendship.

Naima Mohamud
Naima Mohamud is a Finnish-Somali writer, director, and former BBC journalist, currently living and working in Dublin and Helsinki. With a passion for storytelling, she honed her craft by studying filmmaking in London and at the prestigious USC in Los Angeles. Her debut short film Fatima (2013) won the top prizes at the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival and Germany’s Oberhausen Short Film Festival. Building on this success, Naima expanded into television, writing a 3-part sports miniseries that premiered on Yle in February 2024. Naima is currently working on several projects at different stages of production, including one backed by the Irish broadcaster RTÉ.
