Making Art in My Dreams

What do artists dream about? Repressed androids, panthers in trees, walking mushrooms – their work. For some people, dreams are a shortcut to creativity. Follow a theremin player, a poet and a visual artist on a wild ride in creative subconscious!
Making Art In My Dreams is an animated documentary experience featuring three ambitious artists, Arina Baranova, Dorina Owindi and Susanna Viljanmaa. In virtual reality, almost like in someone else’s dream!
DIRECTOR: Leena Jääskeläinen
SCRIPTWRITER: Leena Jääskeläinen
PRODUCER: Marko Tandefelt

Leena Jääskeläinen

Leena Jääskeläinen is a Helsinki-based animation film maker and a media artist with a passion for different forms of story-telling. In her opinion, virtual reality gives great freedom, as the story is not tied to a beginning, a middle part or an ending. Things can just exist and happen in a place! However, Jääskeläinen has by no means abandoned the more traditional ways of story-telling. She is working on the development of her first feature animation film called Bear Park, together with Kaisa Penttilä. They are also already writing together their second feature film, with kind support from the Finnish Film Foundation.
