Alli Haapasalo

Alli Haapasalo is a Finnish director and writer. Her third feature film Girl Picture (2022) won the Audience Award at Sundance Film Festival and was selected to the Generation section of the Berlinale. Girl Picture received four Finnish Film Awards, for best film, best director, best screenplay and best editing in 2023. It is Haapasalo’s passion to tell strong female driven stories. Haapasalo has an MFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, as well as a BA from Aalto University’s School of Film, Television and Scenography. She was awarded
the Finland Award in 2022 and the Nordisk Film Award in 2020.
