August Joensalo

August Joensalo (b. 1993) is a queer and Karelian film director, lens-based artist and writer, interested in naming, seeing and making visible stories from peripheries, especially those inhabited by trans communities. Their short documentary Space Is Quite A Lot of Things was screened at festivals like DOC NYC, Nordisk Panorama and BFI Flare. Joensalo graduated from HDK-Valand Academy in Gothenburg.
