Malin Nyqvist

Malin Nyqvist is a Finnish writer and director with an MFA in Directing from Aalto University’s School of Arts, Design and Architecture (2020). Working across film, television, theatre, performance, and music, Nyqvist blends postmodern sensibilities and dark humour with traditional cinematic storytelling. Their recent works include the Swedish-Finnish coming-of-age series girl code. (SVT, 2024), co-written and co-directed with Karin Tötterman, and the bizarre comedy series Kiitos elämä (YLE, 2023), co-written and co-directed with Milla Pelkonen. Nyqvist previously performed with the internationally acclaimed pop group Le Corps Mince de Françoise and continues to work as a DJ.
