Donner is a documentary about a very unusual old man and the times he has lived. A Jack of all trades and womanizer rolled into one. There is something monumental about this man, an archetype. A species that soon will become extinct. A rough man full of contradictions who has turned old and who somehow cannot fit into our present politically correct, anti-septic times. He says what’s on his mind and gets away with it. But for some reason people love him, or do they?

A Communist’s Daughter is a short documentary about a woman called Eila Åhlberg. She grew up in a changed and prospered Finland after the war. In the 60s the society was characterized by increase in mass production and consumption. Eila wanted to participate all of this. Everything looked good when she set up a successful screw wholesale with her husband Åke. The visual starting point of the film is home movies from their hayday. When you look at these cine films, it looks like that everything is shot mainly as a proof of the status and standard of living. We can go with them for exotic trips, posh parties, summer cottage construction, accurately decorated homes and boarding for motorboats.
