International financing

International financing accounts for a major part of the funding of Finnish film productions. The Finnish Film Foundation supports production companies in finding international partners and financing.

Creative Europe/Media

The European Union’s Creative Europe programme grants support for the audiovisual sector. The Creative Europe/Media desk provides information and advice on the Media sub-programme in Finland. Their website also includes a list of European coproduction platforms:

The Finnish Film Foundation finances the International Sámi Film Institute that promotes Sámi language film production in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Russia. The Institute is located in Kautokeino, Norway:
