In 1993, a suicide guidebook (Wataru Tsurumi: The Complete Manual of Suicide) was published in Japan presenting 198 different ways to commit suicide. More than a million books have been sold to date. The book also tells the best place to kill yourself. That place (a forest) is located on the hillside of Mount Fuji and is called Aokigahara. It is also known as the Sea of Trees. Even signs have had to be put on for people who commit suicides since their bodies are a real problem in a forest that is also a popular hiking area.
