Edinburgh International Film Festival will screen three Finnish films in its program this year. Aurora, the debut feature of Miia Tervo, will compete for The Award for the Best International Feature Film among nine other candidates. The film premiered in Göteborg Film Festival in January and has also screened in SXSW, Austin, Texas.
Happier Times, Grump, the number one domestic box office hit from last year, is in the European Perspectives section. The comedy film directed by Tiina Lymi also screened in Göteborg, and in April it was seen in the Beijing International Film Festival.
Artist Saara Ekström’s short film Body All Eyes was selected to the experimental Black Box program. The film will be seen in the UK already earlier in June at the Sheffield Doc/Fest.
