The Return of the Short Film: a call for artistically ambitious Finnish short films
Deadline for applications is August, 22, 2022, 16:00.
Finnish Film Foundation, AVEK and Yle have launched a new funding project for three short fiction films for 2023. Applications are open to professional film production companies.
The project is intended for cinematic works that can be differentiated from drama series, social media content and news media. Are short fiction films still going strong in the 2020s? We are looking for unique, artistically ambitious Finnish live-action short films. Genre and theme are open. The duration of the film is limited to 15–20 minutes.
The project plan has to be new, previously unseen by the funders.
Each of three selected short films will receive 150,000 euros in production support. Finished works will be shown on Yle in 2023. The producer will hold all other distribution rights.
