The Silent Trilogy by Juho Kuosmanen to Bologna and Karlovy Vary
Three short films from 2012–2023 will be screened together at the two esteemed festivals in June.

The Silent Trilogy, written and directed by Juho Kuosmanen, will have its international premiere at Il Cinema Ritrovato, in Bologna, Italy. The festival which focuses on film history, enjoys high regard among cinéfiles. Kuosmanen is known for his Cannes-award winning feature films The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki (2016) and Compartment no. 6 (2021).
The trilogy consists of Romu-Mattila and a Beautiful Woman (2012), The Moonshiners (2017) and A Planet Far Away (2023). The screening is accompanied live by Ykspihlajan Kino-orkesteri together with foley artist Heikki Kossi, sound designer Pietu Korhonen and sound engineer Ville Liukkonen.
After Bologna, the films will screen at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in Czechia, in their Horizons section. The films were produced by Aamu Film Company, and the international sales are handled by Totem Films.
