Danish-Finnish co-production Psychosia to Venice Critics’ Week

The film is a debut feature from writer-director Marie Grahtø.

Set in a psych ward, the film is a story about the difficult relationship between a psychologist and their suicidal patient. The roles are played by the Danish star Trine Dyrholm and the up-and-coming Victoria Carmen Sonne.

The Finnish talent include composer Pessi Levanto, make-up artist Salla Yli-Luopa, foley artist Heikki Kossi and sound mixer Olli Pärnänen. The Finnish co-producers are Misha Jaari and Mark Lwoff from production company Bufo. The film is produced by Beo Starlig from Denmark.

The Venice Film Festival takes place August 8 – September 7. The Venice International Film Critics’ Week, running parallel to the main competition, is organized by the National Union of Italian Film Critics. Last year, the Finnish filmmaker Anna Eriksson premiered her debut film M in the Venice Critics’ Week.
