In Fjord, the Gheorghius, a devout Romanian Norwegian couple, resettle in a village set in a distant fjord where they become close to their neighbours, the Halbergs. Their children bond despite their different education. When adolescent Elia Gheorghiu shows up at school with some bruises on her body, the community asks itself if the traditional education that the Gheorghiu children get from their parents would have anything to do with it.

Fjord is co-produced by Aamu Film Company, producers  Jussi Rantamäki and Emilia Haukka. The sound designer is Pietu Korhonen and the costume designer is Kirsi Gum

The film is produced by Cristian Mungiu and Tudor Reu for Mobra Films (Romania). Other co-producers are Why Not Productions (France), Eye Eye Pictures (Norway), Snowglobe Film (Denmark), Filmgate Films and Garage Film (Sweden). The US distribution is handled by Neon and the international sales by Goodfellas.
